Industry specialist heads up MLR’s new Major Developments division
MLR, a rapidly growing managed services provider specialising in designing, building, optimising and managing networks has headhunted Mark Hope to head up its new major developments division.
Mark brings his experience in leading businesses through development and change programmes to MLR’s newly formed Major Developments division. His recent roles include spearheading a number of major warehouse automation programmes in fashion, electronics, cosmetics and media markets demonstrating a knowledge of how technology solutions can be implemented to deliver best value to client investments.
In addition to warehouse automation, Mark’s extensive career also spans senior roles in supply chain and logistics businesses both in the UK and internationally, heading up business development, new operation start ups and major change programmes.
“The new division will focus on delivering managed services and complex start to finish IT solutions deployments to the built environment particularly the warehousing and large developments spaces,” comments Ian Morris, CEO at MLR.
“The appointment of Mark Hope to lead this new division is a real statement of intent. Mark has a wealth of experience across this industry clientside and within 3PL which brings incredible insight and value to his position. Usually this sort of pedigree is only found in companies significantly bigger than MLR. However, just as bringing Jacqui Kennedy into the business a year ago as Chief Operating Officer, this appointment plays into our strategy of getting the best people possible for the roles we have.”
Mark Hope is delighted to join the team and relishes the task of building the on the solid foundations of MLR’s work in this area with large warehousing projects under its belt for enterprise customers such as PLT, Boohoo and Greggs.
“Having managed the implementation of warehouse technology solutions both client side and for third party logistics companies I have a very balanced view of the client journey from understanding requirements through to selecting the supporting technologies that optimise an investment,” explains Mark Hope.
“This is a great opportunity for me to bring my extensive experience in the industry to a role I can really get stuck into and where I feel there’s a gap in the market. I look back and think making the decision to switch from a career in finance to project management and logistics with my very first project of distribution centre set up in Florida was a great idea that is paying diviends 30 years later.”
